Episode 2 - Kelsey Wellington

Kelsey, an experienced climber originally from the East Coast, began her journey as a grad student in Missoula, Montana. She shares her stories of climbing throughout Montana and beyond and offers insights into building confidence as a trad climber through Montana’s supportive climbing community. Kelsey, who also served on the board of “The Rocky Mountaineers,” a Missoula outdoor club, gives advice on finding and connecting with other climbers and provides tips for staying active and resilient despite injuries. Tune in to this episode of AlpineVoice, and don’t forget to scroll down for resources and more highlights from our conversation. Enjoy!

To hold herself accountable as a graduate-level writer, Kelsey shares her experiences in the mountains and in life through her Substack. If you’d like to get to know Kelsey better, I highly recommend checking it out!

I highly recommend checking out the website of this legendary old climbers’ club in Montana. Take a look at pages like the About and Rules sections—Kelsey told us about this club, and after some research, I can confirm, these climbers are/were badasses.
